Faith Formation

At Holy Sepulcher School we are committed to the total education of our students, spiritually as well as academically.  Our purpose is to provide a completely integrated education that is firmly catechetics, faith experiences, liturgy, prayer and sacramental preparation.

Catechetics (Religious Education)

Catechetics is the center of the Catholic School.  A conscious effort is made to create a Christ-centered atmosphere by stressing Christian values and morality in the classroom as well as throughout the school.  Religious instruction is also a daily class for all students.

Faith Experiences

Faith experiences are an integral part of our spiritual focus.  Opportunites include Friday, weekly liturgy, Reconciliation, Stations of the Cross, praying of the Rosary and prayer services.  Prayer is central to our existence as a school community.  Every morning the entire student body prays together before the start of classes.  Prayer is also a ritual before every class, at lunchtime, and dismissal.  Service to others is a major focus in our faith expereinces.

Liturgy

Christian living needs constant strengthening.  As a result, the student body has the opportunity to celebrate Eucharistic liturgy together on Friday and Holy Days of obligation with our parish community.  Classes take turns planning the liturgical celebrations.

Prayer

Our belief in God has drawn us to this family community.  Our beliefs are strengthened in daily communal prayer.

Sacramental Preparation

Sacramental programs are designed for second grade students who will be celebrating the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist.  Students receive instruction in their daily classes and celebrate sacraments as a parish community.  Eighth grade students begin sacramental preparation for Confirmation, which is received in 9th grade at Holy Sepulcher.
