The Student Council of Holy Sepulcher School is made up of students who volunteer to help the school in a positive way. They share student ideas with teachers and the principal. They lead the school in community service projects, parish/school service projects, social gatherings of the student body, and School Spirit Days.
Student Council members are required to attend monthly planning meetings. These meetings are held before school from 8:00 AM – 8:30 AM. The meeting schedule is as follows: October 20th, November 17th, December 15th, January 19th, February 16th, March 22nd, April 19th, and May 17th. Following is a list of the Student Council offices and the Student Council members for 2011/12 school year:
President: runs all Student Council meetings, must be in seventh or eighth grade and have at least one prior year of Student Council experience.
Vice- President: helps the President, steps in and runs meetings if the President is not available. You must be in seventh or eighth grade in order to run for this position.
Secretary: takes minutes at all meetings, help with organization and paperwork. Needs to have neat handwriting, good listening skills, and be good at note taking. Must be in fifth, sixth, seventh or eighth grade to run for this position.
Treasure: Is in charge of counting and documenting all Student Council funds. Must be good at math/money skills. Needs to be in fifth, sixth, seventh, or eighth grade.
Spirit Officers (2): They are the voice of the Student Council. They are in charge of announcing any upcoming Student Council news. He/She should be outgoing and able to motivate others. They must be able to speak in front of the whole school. Must have great school spirit. Needs to be in fifth or sisth grade.
Class Representatives(2): They are the voice for their homeroom. They need to be great at communicating with others. Their job is to inform their class what is taking place with Student Council. He/ She should bring ideas of classmates to monthly meetings to be voted on (such as service project ideas).
